At the Stollery Children’s Hospital, we perform over 10,000 surgeries each year, providing surgical care to children and their families in central and northern Alberta, as well as across western Canada. The Stollery is recognized nationally and internationally for specialized surgical services including the delivery of expertise as a major pediatric trauma center.
Our caring, child-friendly team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses and child life specialists provide services throughout the entirety of the surgical journey, from pre-surgical clinic appointments and anesthesia screening, to post-operative care in both an inpatient and outpatient setting.
A child having surgery can be stressful for the entire family, whether it is planned or unexpected. We find families who know what to expect are often less anxious and better prepared for their hospital experience. Our goal is to provide you with information and resources to help your family prepare for the upcoming surgery.
