Respiratory Therapy Program

Registered respiratory therapists (RRT) at the Stollery Children’s hospital provide therapy and lifesaving interventions for children with acute and chronic illnesses for patients in multiple units within the Walter McKenzie Centre as well as the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) located at the Royal Alexandra Hospital.

Our team is comprised of skilled and expertly trained health care professionals who are integral members of the critical care team providing cardio-respiratory support to acutely ill patients. They have specialized knowledge and skills in mechanical ventilation, oxygen therapy and airway management.

RRTs are embedded on each unit of the hospital. Ask a nurse, physician, and a staff member from your care team or on the unit if you have any questions or concerns and they will contact us.
