Working closely with the top post-secondary institutions in the province and with schools across the country, Public Health Laboratory (ProvLab) has good opportunities for continuing education and professional development. The laboratory is affiliated with the University of Alberta, University of Calgary, NAIT, SAIT, and community colleges. In addition Alberta Health Services offer well-respected courses and seminars on diverse practical topics throughout the year.
To enable and encourage staff in pursuit of continuing excellence, the Public Health Laboratory (ProvLab) provides many training opportunities. Throughout the year Journal Clubs and Lunch Talks are offered internally to all staff members at both our Calgary and Edmonton sites. Our popular Guest Speaker series has attracted researchers and clinicians from across the country to share their experiences and insights. Public Health Laboratory (ProvLab) staff are also welcome to attend university affiliated research and clinical seminars available throughout the year.
