CASES

Fellowship Program

Our academic fellowship program is accredited by the Fellowship Council and delivered under the auspices of CASES, the University of Alberta Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and Alberta Health Services Edmonton Zone since 2006. The program annually recruits qualified surgeons who wish to expand their skills in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. More specifically, our program focuses on Advanced GI, Bariatric, Flexible Endo, HPB, and Advanced GI MIS.

Under the leadership of Program Director, Dr. Noah Switzer, the CASES Fellow engages in 12 months of training with a team of expert faculty in achieving competency. In addition to challenging clinical and surgical experience, the fellow is engaged in ongoing training, research and teaching opportunities. Throughout the program, the Fellow receives informal and formal feedback opportunities to support their development. Applications are accepted from December 1 to January 15.
