Education includes various topics on medical and surgical management of obesity management. All staff are invited to join the monthly Bariatric Nursing Education Session which is hosted at Royal Alexandra Hospital in person or by videoconference. All sessions are recorded and if interested in any of the sessions. Please contact us to access these recorded sessions.
This program is designed in collaboration with stakeholders including Health Professional Strategic (HPSP) and MacEwan University. The program delivers two weeks of AHS simulation Labs (e.g. crisis management in OR, interprofessional simulation surgical lab, laser safety lab, etc) to the nursing cohorts from RN and LPN programs. This will improve the confidence of newly hired OR nurses’ by exposing them to basic OR principles and knowledge prior to working independently.
CASES organizes and supports an annual one day CME event on Obesity Updates for family physicians, medical and surgical residents, nurses, and Allied Health. Previous events were very well received by all attendees. Please contact us for more information.
