Mobile COVID-19 testing ends tomorrow in Vegreville

November 16, 2021

Testing services remain available in other locations for residents

VEGREVILLE — Alberta Health Services (AHS) has closed the temporary, mobile COVID-19 testing site due to decreasing demand.

Mobile testing was brought to the community last month as a temporary measure, in partnership with the Town of Vegreville. Demand for COVID-19 testing has decreased significantly in the last two months across the province.

Testing services remain available in northeast area of AHS Central Zone in Wainwright, Lloydminster, Camrose, Edmonton, Sherwood Park and Red Deer. Public Health staff offer community/home-based testing in exceptional circumstances in which clients are unable to travel to one of the testing sites

Individuals with symptoms of COVID-19 are advised to self-isolate immediately, and go online to book a testing appointment at ahs.ca/covid. People without Internet access can call 811 and Health Link staff will book a test appointment.

Alberta Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than four million adults and children living in Alberta. Its mission is to provide a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.
