Increased availability for walk-in COVID-19 immunization in South Zone

October 7, 2021

SOUTH ZONE –  In order to accommodate Southern Albertans as they roll up their sleeves and protect themselves and their families against COVID-19, Alberta Health Services has opened additional walk-in appointment times and locations across the South Zone.

Communities with upcoming walk-in clinics include: Brooks, Cardston, Crowsnest Pass, Fort Macleod, Lethbridge, Magrath, Medicine Hat, Milk River, Oyen, Picture Butte, Pincher Creek, Raymond, and Taber.

Alberta Health announced Oct. 5, that third doses are available to Albertans aged 75 and older, First Nations, Métis and Inuit people aged 65 and older, and all seniors in supportive living. All clinics are offering first, second and third doses to those eligible. Please review eligibility requirements and vaccine offerings online before arriving: http://ahs.ca/covidvaccine. If you are ineligible for the dose or vaccine being offered you will be re-directed to another facility or appointment booking option.

Full clinic details — including dates, operating hours and vaccine types available at each location — are available online. Please bring your Alberta Health Care card if you have one, along with photo ID. You will be required to wear a face mask and use hand sanitizer when visiting the site for your immunization.

All Albertans, born in 2009 or earlier, are encouraged to protect themselves and others by being vaccinated as soon as possible. The COVID-19 vaccines are safe, effective, and a critical way to limit the spread of COVID-19 and protect against severe illness and hospitalization.

The best thing you can do to support your health and reduce the risk to the broader community is to get immunized. Getting immunized not only protects you, but helps limit the spread of COVID-19 to those are not yet eligible for vaccination, and those who are immunocompromised.

If you are experiencing symptoms, stay home and arrange for COVID-19 testing through AHS.ca or by calling 811.
