SOUTH ZONE — National Paramedic Services Week (May 22 to 28) honours the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) profession and recognizes the many men and women who provide this invaluable community service.
This year’s theme, Paramedics: Enhancing Care – Changing Lives, offers an opportunity to better understand the importance of EMS within our health care system and communities.
EMS providers across the province will be celebrating National Paramedic Services Week in a variety of ways, with open houses, tours of ambulances and non-ambulance transfer (NAT) vans, demonstrations of specialized equipment and the sharing of career-planning resources.
Alberta Health Services EMS would like to invite the public to the following open houses:
Tuesday, May 24
Wednesday, May 25
Thursday, May 26
Friday, May 27
The Fort Macleod and District Health Foundation, Windy Slopes Health Foundation (Pincher Creek) and Crowsnest Pass Health Foundation jointly purchased a third non-ambulance transfer (NAT) van for South Zone west. There are now a total of five NAT vans available throughout South Zone. Donors and the public are invited to see the new van and learn about how EMS and the local health foundations contribute to the community.
Alberta Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than four million adults and children living in Alberta. Its mission is to provide a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.
