CORONATION – Due to gaps in physician coverage, Coronation Hospital and Care Centre Emergency Department (ED) will be temporarily closed on the following Fridays in August:
These closures are a temporary measure as efforts to secure locum coverage to mitigate the gaps in coverage have been unsuccessful at this time. Nursing staff will be present at the site during the closures to provide first aid and to refer patients to alternate care facilities in surrounding communities as needed.
EMS will be available to transport patients to other facilities depending on their condition.
All other services at the site will continue to operate as normal throughout each temporary closure. Inpatient units are not affected.
Patients requiring emergency medical care during this time are asked to call 911. EMS will re-route to surrounding facilities, including the Our Lady of the Rosary Hospital in Castor, the Hanna Health Centre, and the Stettler Hospital and Care Centre.
Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7, for non-emergency, health-related questions.
