RED DEER – A newly recruited family physician is now available to provide care to residents in Red Deer and area.

Dr. Jude Omeh is working out of The Branch Clinic in the city. Dr. Omeh will also be providing hospitalist services at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre. Individuals needing a family doctor can call 403-986-8600 to arrange a meet-and-greet appointment.

“This is wonderful news for patients in both Red Deer and central Alberta,” says Adriana LaGrange, Minister of Health and MLA for Red Deer-North. “Dr. Omeh is a welcome addition to Red Deer, and he is sure to be a great asset to our community.”

“Red Deer is the third largest city in the best province in Canada,” adds Jason Stephan, MLA for Red Deer-South. “It is good to see medical professionals coming to Red Deer to serve families and individuals in our wonderful community.”

The Branch Clinic now has three physicians serving the community.

“Red Deer has friendly people with a lovely atmosphere,” says Dr. Omeh, who received his medical training in Nigeria and South Africa.

In his leisure time, Dr. Omeh enjoys watching football and relaxing with his family.

Alberta Health Services (AHS) continues to recruit for physicians across the Central Zone to meet community needs. AHS has physician resource planners who are dedicated to identifying and pursuing international and domestic physician recruitment opportunities. They work closely with various community partners and organizations, such as the Rural Health Professions Action Plan, and independent physician recruitment and retention committees.
