Parents and caregivers invited to AHS Tiny Talk program in Grande Prairie

June 20, 2024

GRANDE PRAIRIE - Parents and caregivers wanting to speak with a nurse about their child’s health and learn more about early childhood are invited to join the Tiny Talk program.

The free Alberta Health Services program gives families with children from birth to 12 months old, or pre-walking age, the chance to meet with a public health nurse and other parents, weigh and measure their child, and ask questions about early childhood.

The program is being held from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. on the first and third Thursday of every month in the Linda Smith Story Room at the Grande Prairie Public Library, 9839 103 Ave. The scheduled dates over the summer are as follows:

Various topics will be discussed each week, including physical, cognitive, social and emotional development. Each session will include about 30 minutes of structured programming and the remainder of the time will be for questions and building a parental community.

Registration is not required.

Residents who require pregnancy, birth and/or early childhood support can also contact Grande Prairie Public Health Centre at 780-513-7500.
