Manning emergency department closed overnight Thursday and Friday

December 15, 2022

MANNING — The Manning Community Health Centre emergency department (ED) will be closed overnight on Thursday, Dec. 15 from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m., and on Friday, Dec. 16 from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. as a result of a lack of nursing staff.

AHS is working to ensure residents continue to have access to the care they need during this time.

Patients requiring urgent emergency medical care during this time are asked to call 911.
EMS calls will be re-routed to surrounding facilities, including the Peace River Community Health Centre (96 km) and the Grimshaw/Berwyn and District Community Health Centre (83 km).

Residents are reminded to call Health Link at 811, which is available 24/7, for non-emergency, health-related questions.

Depending on their needs, patients seeking care at the ED in Manning may also be made aware of services available through local pharmacies.

AHS is grateful for the support of surrounding healthcare centres and medical staff and would like to thank the community for its patience and understanding during this time.
