Second dose influenza immunization offered in Wetaskiwin

April 21, 2022

WETASKIWIN — Eligible children under nine years of age can get their second dose of influenza immunization at the Wetaskiwin Community Health Centre, 5610 40 Ave. on April 30.

Appointments can be made from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. through Alberta’s Vaccine Booking System. Walk-ins may also be accommodated, depending on appointment volumes.

Getting immunized is the single most effective means of arming your children against influenza.

By keeping the number of influenza cases and outbreaks low, we can help protect at-risk Albertans and reduce the pressure on our healthcare system as we continue to respond to COVID-19.

We also encourage Albertans to continue to follow public health measures to help prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses, including: staying home when sick; wearing a mask in indoor public settings when appropriate; practicing physical distancing; practicing hand hygiene; and practicing good respiratory etiquette.

Alberta Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than four million adults and children living in Alberta. Its mission is to provide a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.
