EDMONTON — Alberta Health Services (AHS) and the Greater Edmonton Health Advisory Council (HAC) invite area residents to join a virtual conversation about the opioid crisis, the response of AHS, and the work of our community partners in the greater Edmonton area.
Many Albertans have been affected by drug poisonings and the opioid crisis. This impact has increased since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Addressing the crisis requires a co-ordinated and collaborative response. This event aims to bring awareness to the work happening in communities, and to share how residents of the greater Edmonton area can become active in ongoing efforts to support friends, neighbours and community members.
The session will include information and data about drug poisonings in the AHS Edmonton Zone, health promotion and prevention efforts, and available services and supports in the community. Participants will also hear stories from individuals with lived experience.

This session will be held on Zoom on Wednesday, Dec. 8, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
