Parking lot upgrades at Athabasca Healthcare Centre

April 20, 2021

ATHABASCA – Parking lot improvements are now underway at the Athabasca Healthcare Centre.

Asphalt resurfacing work around the healthcare centre is taking place this spring. Work to prepare the site began today (April 19) and the project is expected to be finished by the end of May, weather permitting.

The healthcare centre, including the emergency department, will remain open and accessible to the public throughout construction. Traffic control personnel will be on-site during the day to direct traffic to the most appropriate entrance. Signage will also be in place to guide traffic and make the public aware of these temporary changes.

The project will be completed in four phases, beginning with the area surrounding the main entrance and access loop. The project also includes new concrete curbing and sidewalks, fresh crosswalk and line painting, improved emergency phone access and additional permanent signage around the property.

Alberta Health Services thanks the public and staff for their understanding and co-operation while this work is underway.
