North Zone New Physician Orientation

Medical Staff

Welcome to the Alberta Health Services (AHS) North Zone. In order to familiarize you with AHS and the North Zone, you are invited to attend a full-day orientation session for all physicians who are new to AHS and the North Zone.

Attendance at a full day North Zone orientation session within your first year with AHS is one of the requirements to move from a probationary appointment to an active appointment.

New Physician Orientation will provide you with:

  • An overview of AHS and what it means to work as a privileged physician within AHS facilities;
  • Key and relevant information delivered during interactive sessions that will assist you in your day to day work;
  • Opportunities to network with various medical leaders within the North Zone; and
  • Access to a physician resource fair during the lunch break.

This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and approved by the University of Calgary Office of Continuing Medical Education and Professional Development. You may claim a maximum of 5.5 hours (credits are automatically calculated) after attending the Physician Orientation in full. Attendance is tracked.
