Effective April 3, Alberta Health Services (AHS) is temporarily suspending parking fees for staff and the public at all its facilities provincewide.
Much of our healthcare world has changed in the last few weeks. We want to ensure our staff and the public are supported in dealing with the impact of COVID-19. Eliminating parking fees makes it easier to deal with many of the new realities facing our staff and public.
Many AHS staff and physicians are working from home and eliminating parking fees and the need for parking passes helps make this transition easier. The change also reduces the risk of COVID-19 spread associated with touching screens and buttons at payment machines at sites, and supports physical distancing measures.
While parking will be free at all AHS sites, we do ask that the public and staff continue to be respectful of the parking spaces allocated to visitors, as well as spaces reserved for emergency personnel, physicians, barrier free stalls, pick-up and drop-off zones, and fire lanes.
If you have any questions please call 1-855-535-1100.
Alberta Health Services Policy Number 1126 outlines AHS’ policy on the operation and use of AHS owned or operated parking facilities and services.
