Where Do I Start?

Addiction & Mental Health

Your daughter is using drugs and you want her to stop. Your son is drinking too much and you think he should quit. Every time you try to talk to your teen you end up frustrated and feeling like you've gotten nowhere. Now what?

A counsellor can talk with you about your situation and your concerns about your son or daughter. Responding to someone else's problem is hard work. When it feels like your life is out of control, we can help you get it back. We can help you learn some ways of getting through to your child, and guide you to appropriate treatment options.

The patient information series offers information about dealing with alcohol, other drugs, gambling and your children:

There are a variety of treatment services, from outpatient counselling to intensive day treatment with residential support. For more information and to find an addiction services office near you, call the 24–hour Helpline at 1-866-332-2322.
