FORT McKAY – Alberta Health Services (AHS) has lifted a precautionary air quality advisory for Fort McKay, Civeo’s Beaver River Executive Lodge and Athabasca Lodge, and Syncrude’s Mildred Lake Lodge.
Monitoring indicates air quality in these areas is no longer being impacted by smoke and Sulphur Dioxide (SO2) from a fire at Syncrude’s Mildred Lake facility near Fort McMurray on Tuesday.
As air quality can always be influenced by weather and wind patterns, area residents are reminded that awareness of local air quality conditions is an important part of daily routines.
Information about the air quality in many areas of Alberta is updated hourly on the Alberta Environment Air Quality Website: http://airquality.alberta.ca. Air quality information is also available by phone, toll-free, at 1-877-247-7333.
Alberta Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than 4 million adults and children living in Alberta. Its mission is to provide a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.
