The Protection for Persons in Care Act (PPCA) has been revised and the new Act is in effect July 1, 2010.

The PPCA is designed to improve protection for adults receiving government-funded care or support services through the prevention of abuse.  In addition, the Act requires reporting of abuse and independent reviews of reports of abuse.
