SCM is a clinical application that contains patient health records (e.g., patient demographics, test results, orders, and clinical documentation). As well as the many benefits of SCM, the goal is to enhance the quality and safety of care by providing appropriate access to information and decision support tools at the point of care.

This eLearning module focuses on the Acute Care application in SCM. Every SCM user is required to complete the assigned Acute Care modules before being granted access to the computer system. If you will be using the Ambulatory or Emergency Care applications, you will be required to complete additional modules.

SCM relies on information that flows from Clinibase (Patient Admissions, Discharge and Transfers system). It is essential that the patient identification is accurate since many systems share information.
