The SCM Downtime website is used to view/print the Medication Profile report. Historical and future medication administration tasks for 24 hours are included on the report.
Administration times and signatures are documented on this report. It must be kept as part of the patient's chart if there is any documentation on it.
If new medication orders are written during the downtime, these would not appear on the Medication Profile report. New orders need to be transcribed and documented on to a manual form. Scheduled medications ordered during downtime are transcribed as soon as the order is written. Unscheduled medications are only transcribed if they are administered.
IV documentation is performed on a manual form.
