Booked Janssen COVID-19 appointments offered

November 23, 2021

RED DEER – The Janssen (Johnson & Johnson) COVID-19 vaccine is now available for Albertans 18 years of age and older. Only one dose of the Janssen vaccine is needed to be fully immunized.

Due to limited supply, booked appointments will be offered in the following communities:

Eligible Albertans can book their appointments by calling Health Link at 811.

This viral vector vaccine is only for people who haven’t had any doses of the COVID-19 vaccines before.

We encourage eligible Albertans who have not received a first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine to book an appointment as soon as possible. Please bring your Alberta Health Care card if you have one, along with photo ID. You will be required to wear a face mask and use hand sanitizer when visiting the site for your immunization.

The Janssen vaccine will not be provided as a second dose or a booster dose. A booster dose of an mRNA vaccine is recommended after 6 months.
