Accessing AHS Email & Intranet

Medical Staff

Accessing and utilizing your AHS email account is an easy process for AHS physicians. Your AHS email allows you to stay connected with colleagues, the organization and important news and updates. AHS also offers a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program for physicians.

Using Your AHS Email Address

All members of the AHS Medical Staff are assigned an AHS email address for their professional use. It is typically your.name@ahs.ca but it may vary slightly.

The password for your email account is the same as the password you use to log into AHS computers. If you’re unsure of your password, contact the AHS IT service desk 1-877-311-4300 and have your CPSA registration number handy.

How to Access AHS Email via Webmail

  1. Go to outlook.office.com
  2. Enter your full AHS email address (e.g.: peter.parker@albertahealthservices.ca) and AHS network password.
  3. Verify your identity using your preferred multi-factor authentication method. If you haven’t set up your multi-factor authentication, follow this user guide.

AHS Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Program

Accessing AHS email and calendar on personal devices is only available through Microsoft Outlook on devices enrolled into AHS’ Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program. You will not be able to access AHS email through other software. BYOD supports security and privacy of health data. Apple iOS and Android devices (Phones and tablets) are eligible for enrolment.

Encrypting Messages Using Your AHS Email Account

Messages sent from one AHS email to another are secure without any additional steps. When sending an email with sensitive information from an AHS email address to a non-AHS email address, the message must be encrypted. To learn more, please review the AHS email encryption instructions.

How to Access AHS Insite

As a member of the AHS Medical Staff, you can access AHS’ intranet page, Insite, from any computer at an AHS facility using your AHS network username and password. You can also access AHS Insite remotely by visiting my.ahs.ca and logging in using your AHS network username and password.

Troubleshooting

If you need to reset your password, go to my.ahs.ca and click on the Forgot Your Password link.

If you are sure you have entered your network username and password correctly but are still not able to access your inbox, please contact the Medical Staff Office of your primary Zone in case there was a problem creating your account.
