Type B Continuing Care Home

Offers private, personal living space and personal care for adults and seniors.

Offers housing and support for adults with a wide range of health issues.

Services may include:

  • on site care services by HCA and LPN 24/7
  • rehabilitation to support healthy aging
  • social work
  • nutritious meals and snacks (some changes for special needs can be made)
  • weekly room cleaning

Registered Nurse care planning and health services are scheduled and provided by Home Care.

From Highway 16, go North on Highway 893 and follow 5km, cross the Railroad tracks and turn right at the 2nd entrance into Islay.

Eligibility

You are assessed by your Home Care Case Manager. If you qualify for the service, home care will discuss your community choices.

Service Access

You can be referred by your Home Care case coordinator. If you qualify for the service, you'll have to contact the facility of your choice for a housing and financial assessment.


Fees

There’s a cost for housing (room and board set fee by the Alberta Health), medication copay, incontinence products, personal equipment, and extra services (i.e. laundry, cable, internet, telephone, etc). Care is paid for by AHS

There may be help to pay for the service if you have a low income or get income assistance.
