Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography / Computed Tomography

A nuclear medicine procedure that provides 3-dimensional imaging with a gamma camera.

Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT / CT) technology combines the functional imaging capabilities of SPECT with the high-resolution anatomic imaging of CT. With a combined SPECT / CT, the gamma camera picks up the metabolic signal and the CT provides a detailed picture of the internal anatomy that shows the size, shape and location of the abnormal tissues.
