Seating Service

The Glenrose Seating Service provides custom-made seating systems to clients with physical disabilities and complex seating needs.

The Glenrose Seating Service assesses people with a physical disability who have complex seating needs that commercial products don’t meet.


The Clinic offers:

  • custom-made seating systems to clients with physical disabilities and complex needs
  • education to caregivers and healthcare providers
  • advanced knowledge in adaptive seating.

occupational therapists (OTs), physical therapists (PTs), seating technicians
Eligibility

Children, adults, and geriatric clients with:

  • Complex mobility seating requirements, i.e., backrest or cushion that cannot be addressed by a community therapist, i.e., Level C custom and commercial, or
  • Level B custom and commercial, within the community and from outside the Edmonton Zone.

Note: Must have an appropriate wheelchair in place already, and have a community therapist to participate in the seating appointment (live or virtual) and be able to provide follow-up within the community as required.

Wait Times

An estimated wait time will be provided at the time of appointment booking.

Fees

Seating systems are third-party funded, cost-shared, or self-pay.
