Electromyography Lab

Electromyography (EMG) is used to diagnose and assess the health of muscles and the nerves that control them.

Doctors use a test called electromyography to check for problems with nerves and muscles including:

  • neuromuscular junction (where nerves meet muscles)
  • spinal cord
  • carpal tunnel syndrome, and
  • peripheral neuropathy (damage of nerves outside of the brain and spinal cord)
