Home Nutrition Support - Pediatric

Monitoring of Pediatric clients who receive enteral feeding by nasogastric or gastrostomy feeding devices in their home.

A team of dietitians, feeding therapists, registered nurses and social workers who work together to assist families and caregivers in managing a child's tube feeding at home. Regular review and follow up of formula / supplies, nutritional requirements, oral feeding review, tube site issues are carried out by the team. Nurses educate care givers / family how to use and care for the feeding tube. This Edmonton area program provides service to clients from Red Deer north.

Getting There

Parking and Public transportation available.

  • Parking rates apply 24 hours per day, and are in effect for all public parkers, including those with provincially issued placards for persons with disabilities.
  • Public parking is GST exempt.
  • Pay by Plate machines accept Canadian coins or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express).
  • Maximum 28 Canadian coins per transaction, no pennies. Machines provide no change.
  • Pay on Foot machines accept Canadian coins and bills, or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express). These machines will provide change.
  • Parking Office accepts payment by cash, credit card, debit or cheque
  • Bus stops at 112 and 114 St.

Eligibility

Children from birth up to their 18th birthday.

If services are still required after their 18th birthday a referral is sent in to the Adult Home Nutrition Program for potential transfer into the Adult program.

Wait Times

An estimated wait time will be provided at the time of appointment booking.

Fees

Co-payment of fees for formula purchased through the program. The payment is based on the age of child.
