Edmonton Youth Recovery Program

The Edmonton Youth Recovery Treatment Program is a 12-week voluntary inpatient program for youth with harmful involvement in substance use that has resulted in significant impairment in several major life areas. The program is a group treatment model that utilizes an experiential learning approach to assist youth to develop insights into their behavior and recovery.

Edmonton Youth Recovery Program Details:

  • Supports youth aged 12-18 years old;
  • 8-bed program
  • Located at the Alberta Hospital Edmonton, Unit 8-2A
  • Supports youth navigating their addiction concerns.
  • Youth and their families are actively engaged in individual, group, leisure and family counselling as part of their recovery plan.
  • Youth participate in school on-site and are supported in positively accessing community-based services as a part of treatment and transition planning.

Eligibility

Youth 12-18 years of age.

Service Access

Healthcare providers should consult the Alberta Referral Directory for service referral information.

Referrals can be submitted from any AHS Addictions Counsellor or Mental Health Therapist. A completed referral includes treatment application, completed assessment (preference for SAGAA-Y) and a medical form completed by a physician. Completed referrals can be emailed to our Intake Coordinator.
