Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Clinic (Pediatrics and Adult)

A VAD is an artificial heart designed to help your heart pump blood to the rest of your body.

During the evaluation process, our team will work together with you and your cardiologist to determine whether or not a VAD is the right advanced therapy for the patient.

The VAD team assess patients with end stage heart failure. This device is implanted to fully support left / right side of heart.; Used as:

  • a bridge to transplant
  • time to make decisions
  • destination therapy (long term)

A multidisciplinary team will closely follow patient in community as long as they have the VAD implant.
