High River Maternity

Offers a variety of services related to low-risk pregnancy and childbirth.

Services include:

  • large delivery rooms designed to create a supportive and accommodating environment
  • Specialized labour and delivery tubs in each of the rooms for water labour and birth
  • updated equipment to better monitor mother and baby before, during, and after delivery
  • space for partners or a support person to stay overnight

High River Maternity provides care for pregnant people in the Foothills area - from Calgary to Claresholm including High River, Okotoks, Nanton, and all the surrounding rural areas.

Eligibility

Women must be considered "low-risk". We do not see the following:

  • women with complex pre-existing medical conditions (such as diabetes, hypertension, Crohn's disease, etc.)
  • women desiring a trial of labour after a C-section, but we will see patients for repeat C-sections
  • women with a pre-pregnancy BMI greater than 38

Patients can self-refer by calling the clinic. They can also see their famiy doctor for a referral. Referral forms are also available on our website.
