Physical Therapy Neurological Services - Community

Physiotherapy services for people whose activities of daily living have been affected by a neurological disorder.

This service works to maximize your ability to function and participate in daily life. Treatment may be one-to-one or in a group and may include:

  • treatment at the clinic or facility
  • symptom management
  • education to help you understand your condition and manage daily living
  • exercise program or other options

Eligibility

You must have:

  • a neurological condition affecting your central nervous system and require a physiotherapy assessment
  • no coverage by other payers such as Workers' Compensation Board (WCB), Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) etc.

Fees

For individuals who meet the eligibility requirements, AHS may cover a limited number of visits (assessment and/or treatment) at listed physiotherapy clinics. Physiotherapy for individuals who do not meet the eligibility requirements or require treatments beyond what is covered by AHS, can use their health benefits (e.g., Blue Cross, AISH or other insurance) or pay out of pocket.
