Adult Spina Bifida Clinic

The Adult Spina Bifida Clinic help adults with spina bifida (a condition where the spine and spinal cord do not form right before birth) to organize their medical care.

Access to nurses, respiratory therapists, social workers, and doctors who deal with bladder and kidney problems, stomach issues, and problems with breathing is provided. The clinic helps with medical and emotional needs and provides instruction and knowledge to patients, families, and health experts. Health providers are offered medical advice.

The Adult Spina Bifida Clinic is held on the 1st Monday of the month in the afternoon.

Healthcare providers should consult the Alberta Referral Directory for service referral information.

If the patient is currently attending the Pediatric Spina Bifida Clinic, the patient will be transferred to Adult services, if needed.
