Pediatric Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder Clinical Services

The Pediatric Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) outpatient clinic helps kids who were exposed to alcohol before they were born.

The clinic checks and diagnoses kids aged 8-17 who were exposed to alcohol before they were born. The assessment takes about 1.5 days. On the second day in the afternoon, they tell the caregivers the results and give them advice. They also provide them with a written summary.

The clinic offers:

  • help finding support from other groups in the community if they need it
  • information for the families and the community
  • teaching other doctors how to check and diagnose Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD)
  • giving families a chance to take part in research
