Seniors Mental Health Program Community Services, Seniors Outreach Nurses

Provides mental health assessments for older adults.

Offers services to assess mental health concerns in older adults where they live (in their homes, lodges, assisted living, supportive living, continuing care centres, and hospitals)

Services include:

  • providing mental health assessments, including mental status checks
  • teaching clients and their families about the signs and symptoms of mental illness, and possible treatments
  • working closely with a client’s doctor to decide which services are needed
  • providing information on medicines and treatment

This service is provided by Alberta Health Services and Alberta Health Services contracted service providers.
