Early Childhood Intervention Program

Information for Parents

Program Overview

The Early Childhood Intervention Program (ECIP) provides information, education and support to families with infants and young children who have developmental delays or disabilities.

Early childhood intervention providers and families work together to improve a child’s development and their ability to take part in everyday activities at home and in the community.

Early intervention is best for families who:

  • have identified concerns with their young child's development
  • believe that they are the most important person to guide and help their child develop
  • want to make the most of family routines, everyday opportunities, and teachable moments
  • are interested in building on their strengths, setting goals and learning new strategies
