Stettler hospital renovation continues on time and budget

July 15, 2019

STETTLER – Work on the $9.3-million renovation project at the Stettler Hospital & Care Centre continues to progress on time and on budget.

The project involves upgrades to the emergency department and labour and delivery area, as well as kitchen/nutrition and food services areas.

Work on Phase 1 began in March with construction of a new pharmacy and gift shop, and modifications to the cafeteria to make room for new labour and delivery suites. This work is expected to be completed in the fall, when Phase 2 construction of the new labour and delivery suites is set to begin.

The hospital remains fully operational while construction is underway. Every effort is being made to minimize impact to patients during construction.

Work on the emergency department renovations (Phase 3, final) is expected to begin early next year and the upgrades will improve accessibility, security, workflow and patient care.
