Permanent lab collections site opens June 19

June 13, 2017

BROOKS – Alberta Health Services (AHS) is opening the permanent community collections site next week as part of the expansion of laboratory services in southeast Alberta.

The site will open Monday, June 19, at #7 500 Cassils Rd. E. Hours of operation are 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.

The site is expected to serve between 170 and 200 patients per day and will offer increased privacy, greater access for people with mobility challenges and ample parking. It is located close to the Brooks Health Centre.

The Government of Alberta’s Infrastructure Maintenance Program funded the $650,000 site.

AHS planned to open the new Brooks community lab collections site in April but unforeseen construction delays required a temporary collections site at the Brooks Health Centre. That temporary location will close at 1 p.m. on June 16.

Alberta Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than four million adults and children living in Alberta. Its mission is to provide a patient-focused, quality health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.
