Boyle Healthcare Centre resumes regular service

March 7, 2017

BOYLE – The Boyle Healthcare Centre is once again fully operational and able to admit patients. The facility reopened to the public and resumed inpatient services this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. (Tuesday, March 7). Emergency Department service returned to the community on Friday, March 3.

A water main leak beneath the Boyle Healthcare Centre last week prompted AHS to temporarily close the facility in order to ensure the safety and comfort of patients. Patients requiring admission during the closure were transferred to nearby facilities, including the Athabasca Health Centre. These patients have since been transferred back to the Boyle Healthcare Centre.

Water has been restored to the facility through a temporary, above ground heated water line. The boil water advisory for the healthcare centre has also been lifted, following successful system flushing and water testing.

AHS and the Village of Boyle continue to work diligently on permanent repairs to address the water main leak.

Thank you for your patience during this temporary closure.
