Alberta Precision Laboratories (APL) Transfusion Medicine (TM) labs across the province are dedicated to providing correct and safe blood components and blood products to our patients. TM works with Canadian Blood Services to ensure patient safety and that an adequate supply of blood is available for all Albertans.

TM, in collaboration with clinical staff and educators, has developed a provincial policy addressing the transfusion of blood components and products. This policy suite and its supporting resources serve to establish a standard for the practice of transfusion in Alberta.
