Lethbridge

Supervised Consumption Services

Alberta Health Services (AHS) is providing supervised consumption services on a temporary basis in Lethbridge through a mobile overdose prevention service (OPS) unit. The vehicle began operating August 17, 2020 outside the Lethbridge Stabilization Centre and Shelter, 802 2 Ave. N., offering the service seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 4 a.m.

This service offers referrals to detoxification services, treatment programs, housing and other social supports, in addition to managing overdoses and reducing related harms.

The mobile OPS is a temporary solution while Alberta Health works with the municipality and key stakeholders to ensure longer-term strategies are in place for people struggling with addiction.
