Provides maintenance and repair of Alberta Health Services owned Acute Care and Long Term Care buildings, equipment, and grounds.
Facilities Management & Engineering (FM&E) is a department within the Capital Management Portfolio of Alberta Health Services. Other departments within Capital Management include: Capital Operations & Government Integration, Project Management, Protective & Parking Services, Clinical Engineering, and Property Management.
Facilities Maintenance & Engineering, Grande Prairie & Area has the responsibility to operate and maintain 13 sites, comprising 30 buildings totalling 120,000 square meters. Specifically, FM&E:
- maintains and operates building systems and equipment
- manages and maintains heliports
- looks to reduce utility costs through improved procurement and energy management
- ensures long term sustainability of facilities & equipment though periodic upgrading & replacement
