Clinical Ethics Service

A provincial-wide, confidential service that helps patients, families, healthcare providers, and administrators identify and resolve many types of ethical challenges in health care, including organizational ethics.

Offers support to make hard choices about healthcare when people's beliefs and values are in conflict. This provincial-wide service is for patients, their families, healthcare providers, and administrators. Examples include when patients and family members have a hard decision to make about treatment or healthcare providers must deal with a situation that causes moral distress.
The service offers a confidential consult, which may include:

  • simple talks
  • guided talks with teams
  • help making decisions
  • help with complex situations and ethical challenges
  • organizational ethics
