Respiratory Therapy Adult and Pediatric Services

Provides outpatient assessment, treatment, and education related to lung health.

Services include:

  • Diagnostic testing (e.g., spirometry, blood gases, and oximetry).
  • Treat, educate, and create action plans for people with lung issues like chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma.
  • Teach people how to cut down or stop smoking.
  • Teach people how to use their respiratory medicine devices.
  • Sleep apnea screening.
  • Support the Aids to Daily Living home oxygen funding requirements.
  • Consultation, follow-up, and referral to other programs and agencies.
  • Education and workshops for healthcare providers.

 Also teaches two respiratory rehab programs:

  • Breathe Easy - Run out of the Centre for Lung Health in Edmonton. Delivered via Telehealth in Camrose, Vermilion and various sites in Flagstaff and Beaver Counties.
  • LEEP (Lung Education and Exercise Program) delivered in Vegreville, St. Joseph's Hospital.
