Audiology Services

Community Audiology at Richmond Road Diagnostic and Treatment Centre (RRDTC) provides a full range of diagnostic audiological services for infants, children, adults and seniors. RRDTC is home to the Adult Cochlear Implant Service for the southern half of the province. Limited Audiology Services may be available at the Community Audiology satellite sites of Airdrie Community Health Centre and Foothills Medical Centre.

Community Audiology provides the following services (not all services are offered at each site):

  • diagnostic hearing assessments for all ages (ABR for infants younger than 6 months)
  • hearing screening
  • oncology (baseline/monitoring) hearing assessment
  • vestibular (VNG/VEMP) assessments (ENT/Neurology referral required)
  • cochlear implant (CI) candidacy assessments and intervention/follow-up for adults 18 and older

This service does not provide/sell hearing aids, however candidacy and information about where to obtain hearing aids is provided post hearing assessment.
