Provincial Advisory Council on Addiction & Mental Health

The Advisory Council will:

  • Consider and provide evidence–based suggestions to Alberta Health Services in the development of AHS’ Addiction & Mental Health provincial service planning; and
  • Provide a vehicle to identify existing and emerging addiction and mental health issues; and
  • Provide advice to AHS on ways to improve quality, access and sustainability of AMH services in Alberta

About

With the announcement of the formation of Alberta Health Services, the Minister of Health and Wellness requested the development of a Provincial Advisory Council on Addiction & Mental Health.

This Advisory Council has been established and was approved by the Alberta Health Services Board on December 8, 2011.

The Advisory Council will provide advice related to addiction & mental health priorities for services provided throughout the province, drawing upon other expertise as required.
